The Standing Stones Hotel overlooks the Loch of Stenness. The hotel has had many roles throughout history, including use by the RAF as an operations room in 1918 during World War I.

More recently the hotel has catered for tourists and business travellers alike. Under new ownership since August 2019, the local owners have endeavoured to create warm and welcoming country hotel that celebrates great local produce, represents value-for-money, and which will make your trip to Orkney unforgettable.

At The Standing Stones Hotel, we are committed to doing our best for the Environment and to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible. We recycle everything that we are able too. We would like to encourage our guests to do the same using the recycling bins provided.
We use local suppliers and businesses which are all located within 15 miles of the hotel, securing the highest quality produce while also minimising our impact on the environment.
